Broncos Considered Mike Shanahan As Coach Before Season Began

I think nearly all of the Denver Broncos community, from media to fans, and ever some employees are in agreeance that it's time for a coaching change now. But it sounds like it actually came close to happening before the season even began!

According to a report from the Colorado Springs Gazette, Mike Shanahan met with John Elway last December to discuss a return to coaching. Per the Gazette, “the contract was not finalized because Broncos’ CEO Joe Ellis, who also serves on the Pat Bowlen Trust board, refused to agree.”

Shanahan spent 14 seasons in Denver (1995-2008), leading them to two Super Bowl wins.

The Gazette also reported that Shanahan also met with Kirk Cousins to discuss joining the Broncos.

Could it happen this off-season?!
