Texas Couple Gets Engaged on Colorado Peak, Gets Lost, Gets Sick

Us natives know this, others don't always... The mountains are pretty, but dangerous!

A couple from Texas who got engaged atop a peak in Boulder, Colorado, wound up getting rescued by the authorities after they get lost and developed altitude sickness.

According to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, 27-year-old Joshua Mason of Denton, Texas, took 28-year-old Katie Davis on a hike Saturday to Jasper Peak, where they climbed to nearly 13,000 feet. After getting lost on their way down, a fellow hiker found them dehydrated and experiencing altitude sickness. A second hiker called for help, while the first one gave them water and food. By early Sunday, they were able to walk to their car with help from rescue workers and didn't require further medical treatment.

According to Boulder County Sgt. Clay Leak, the engagement is still on.
