There's a Squirrel Whisperer Needed in Greeley

Once a week or so, my hometown newspaper, the Greeley Tribune, puts together what they call their Cop Log. Basically they compile the weirdest stuff that the cops encounter over the last month or so in Greeley and Evans, and print it for the world to see. Today, it's the story of the tame squirrel who can no longer care for himself after it's caretaker left.

Dec. 6th, 10:45 a.m.: Police received a call from the 1000 block of 23rd Avenue. One of the caller's co-workers tamed a squirrel at a job site, but the coworker recently was fired. The squirrel no longer knew how to care for itself.

I had no idea squirrels could even be tamed, and if this guy spent the time to do it, I guess he probably wasn't working and deserved to be fired.

See the rest of this week's Cop Log here.
