Urban Hunting in Colorado Does Not Mean Anyone Can Hunt Anywhere

Yesterday I did a story on my radio show about Colorado Springs considering allowing urban hunting to help control the deer overpopulation. I "joked" about how I could see hunters hiding behind and on top of buildings in the city with their bows and arrows, shooting at deer. Well, that didn't sit well with some.

After my comments, I received numerous calls and emails from people who took offence to my joke. Some rather scathing calling me ignorant and such.

So I thought I'd be a little more plain today and make sure you know that there would be strict rules and regulations if urban hunting were to be allowed...

Among other rules, hunters would have to pass an accuracy test and schedule their hunting time in advance. Hunting in city parks and some other places would also be off limits.

My apologies to anyone who may have been offended by my attempt at making the situation a little lighter yesterday.
