Last week I was complaining because no one in my office gave me a Christmas present... Today that changed, and I am not sure how to feel about it.
I came into my radio studio today and was met by a card saying "Merry Christmas" and the heaviest loaf of bread I had ever picked up. After some investigating, I realized I had been gifted a fruitcake.
I didn't even know people really made these things, and although I am grateful that someone thought of me, I kind of feel like this was a passive-aggressive way of saying "I don't like you."
Part of me thinks that everyone knows that no one likes fruitcake, so why would someone give it as a gift? Another says maybe I should try it, because I have never had fruitcake, and the last part of me says there is a chance my co-worker is kind, but oblivious to the fact that fruitcake is a horrible gift.
The things that make me lose sleep at night...
