For the first time since the Route 91 Harvest Festival tragedy, many country stars returned to Vegas for Sunday night's ACMs. Many of us had been wondering how they were going to address the shooting at the awards show, and I think they did it very tastefully. Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Maren Morris and Thomas Rhett opened with a touching monologue, instead of opting for a song.
You may also have noticed that many stars wore pins on their suits and gowns. There were three different pins: 851, 58, and 1. These numbers signify the number of people injured, the number of people killed, and unity in the aftermath of it all. While they kept talk of gun control pretty quiet at the ceremony, that doesn't mean that many country artists haven't spoken out about their stance since the shooting. Hopefully it's the first step in getting something done.
