KACEY MUSGRAVES' third album "Golden Hour" will be out March 30th . . . so CMT asked her to look back at the early days when she first moved to Nashville.
It sounds like she barely knew anyone, because she had to search to find roommates. Quote, "I lived in a house I rented sight unseen. I had two roommates, and one I found on Craigslist. I was like, 'I'll just do it.'"
Her first job was singing demos . . . but she also picked up a paycheck dressing up as characters at parties. (You may recall her talking about impersonating "Hannah Montana", and turning down an offer to dress up as a French Maid.)
The first song she wrote was with Radney Foster.
Her first gig was playing "writers' rounds," which are open-mic nights for songwriters. That's when she hung out with other new artists like Lucie Silvas, Kree Harrison, and T.J. and John Osborne.
And her first "run-in with a hero" was when she saw John Prine at a taco place and did the fan girl thing. And in true Music City fashion, years later she ended up singing on one of his albums. (CMT)
And Kacey's new single is here! It's "Butterflies!"
