Hear Lunchbox’s 911 Call After Accident That Totaled the Other Car

Lunchbox’s beloved Altima broke down about two years ago, and he never replaced it. Instead, he started riding his bike to work and decided he didn’t need another vehicle. Since then, he had been driving the family SUV when needed.

That all changed when Lunchbox was involved in a serious car accident days ago. He was rear-ended while driving in Nashville during stop-and-go traffic. A car traveling at a high speed hit him from behind, pushing his vehicle forward. Lunchbox said he was lucky to be alive and did not suffer any major injuries, though his back felt tight and sore afterward. The other vehicle became disabled and was left about a hundred yards behind his car in the roadway. The SUV involved in the crash belongs to Lunchbox’s wife and was the only car the family had. Although the vehicle was still drivable, it pulled to one side. Lunchbox said he had been in contact with insurance and was in the process of getting a rental car set up.

Bobby then played audio from Lunchbox’s 911 call made shortly after the accident. In the call, Lunchbox described being rear-ended, confirmed he was alone in the vehicle, and said he had pulled over to the shoulder of the road. He told the dispatcher his back felt sore, but didn’t report serious injuries. He also said he didn’t know the condition of the other driver, whose car was disabled in the lane. After the call, the Bobby Bones Show discussed how animated Lunchbox sounded while speaking to the dispatcher, including sound effects and frequent verbal reactions as he described the crash. Lunchbox said he wasn’t trying to perform and felt he was just explaining what happened while adrenaline was high. He said he believed he was in shock and was testing how his body felt after the impact.

The conversation continued with jokes about details Lunchbox left out of the call, including a smoothie that spilled on him during the crash. Lunchbox said he didn’t think that particular detail was necessary to share with 911.
