Brian Kelley delivered a heartfelt message to his wife as the third single from his upcoming album on Tuesday (October 8).

“If I Go First” serves as a deeply vulnerable message to his wife of a decade, Brittney Kelley. The country star sings on the Katlin Owen- and Caleb Gilbreath-produced track: “You’re the light of my life on this earth / I’ll hold down Heaven / If I go first.”

Later this month, Kelley will release a full album of songs written solely by himself. His upcoming solo project, titled Ed & Mary Margaret’s Son, is Kelley’s “most autobiographical work to date,” per a press release announcing the debut of “If I Go First” on Tuesday morning. Previously, Kelley released “Hold On, Cowboy” and “Put Myself On” from his forthcoming collection. Ed & Mary Margaret’s Son is set to arrive on October 25.

The album will follow Tennessee Truth, Kelley’s full-length record that includes “Acres,” “How We’re Livin’,” “Trucks, Ducks, Bucks & Beer,” “See You Next Summer,” “Kiss My Boots” and more. Kelley expanded the original 12-track collection with two additional songs in August, “American Spirit” and “Make America Great Again.”
