Charles Esten is gearing up for the TV premiere of his powerful, romantic ballad, “One Good Movie,” the first single from his debut album. The country artist and actor will perform on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Monday (April 10), and will team up with host and original American Idol champion Kelly Clarkson during the “Kellyoke” segment of her show.

Esten, who was a presenter at the 2023 CMT Music Awards earlier this week, released “One Good Move” last month. He co-wrote the track with Sam BackoffZarni deVette, and Elise Hayes, and it was produced by Marshall Altman, per a press release issued at that time. Esten dedicated the song to his wife of 31 years, Patty, fusing rock elements into a country love song as he reflects on “misspent youth that paid off in the end with ‘one good move.’”

“One Good Move” is set to appear on Esten’s debut album, which comes after a decade of making music in Nashville. The Nashville and Outer Banks star (known for his roles as Deacon Claybourne and Ward Cameron, respectively) will release the next song from his debut album, “A Little Right Now,” at the end of this month, on April 28.
