Cause Of Death Revealed For Mary Jane Thomas, Hank Williams Jr.'s Wife

Officials have reportedly determined the cause of death of Mary Jane Thomas, who was married to iconic country music artist Hank Williams Jr. Thomas, who married Williams in 1990s, died earlier this year.

The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner classified Thomas’ death as an accident. It happened after an injury during a cosmetic procedure, leading to a collapsed lung, TMZ learned on Monday (July 25). The entertainment news hub reports that Thomas became unresponsive and died the following day. The autopsy deemed Thomas’ cause of death, “pneumothorax due to perforated parietal pleura during liposuction with autologous fat reinjection procedure,” per PEOPLE.

The Jupiter Police Department responded to the scene at the Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa on March 22, and transported the former Hawaiian Tropic model to a local hospital.

The couple’s son, Sam Williams, shared a heartbreaking tribute after losing his mother. He described her as “a beautiful soul who forever affected everyone who knew her. …She is survived by my father, her two parents Ramona and Bill, her brother Andy, her sister Angela, myself and her three grandchildren: Beau Weston, Tennyson Hiram and Audrey Jane. Rest in peace Mama, I will always be the son of Mary Jane.”
